Minimalismo

Nunca coma demais. Quanto menos melhor.

Menos amigos é melhor. Menos estresse e drama

Seja organizado, pontual, disciplinado e simples. Não procrastine.

Estoicismo

Calma, controle das emoções a cada. Solteiro. Dia.

Your life gets a 100× easier when you follow these philosophies. You aren't that complicated, you are a person. Life should be in the flow and it's good to get your life together and have no problems at all costs. The only thing you have to worry about are your responsibilities. Other than that you are not in a financial crisis, you are not starving, you are not struggling that much, you are not rushing to work, you are not stuck in traffic, you shall not have no problems in life. A problem-free life. It feels good to have no problems, doesn't it? It feels better if nobody had problems! Get rid of all mental disorder and bog. Problem free philosophy is the way to go. No problems is the way to go. No health problems. No relationship problems. No work problems. No financial problems. WOULDN'T THAT BE NICE.

Be comfortable on a material level

Get your financial situation straight

Wear refined, clean, color matching, good-looking clothes you feel confident wearing and comfortable wearing

Never fail to take care of yourself and physical needs. Happy people take care of themselves, but depressed people don't. Brush your teeth and hair. Shower. Basic things that you are better off doing.

Do not neglect your physical needs unless for spiritual purposes, ground yourself in reality, be happy with reality

It’s a very interesting question, and as you might imagine, my philosophy has evolved over time. Quite possibly, it will evolve further over time. So, I will answer based on my current thinking (November 2017).

There are a few things that I am focused on right now, all rooted in core personal philosophy:

1.

Impact: It’s easy to see that I am interested in making an outsized impact based on what I have chosen to do with my career: 100% focus on 1Mby1M since 2010.

2.

Autonomy: I don’t like people meddling in my affairs. I’m somewhat of a “ my way or highway” kind of person. I put an enormous premium on autonomy and independence. My choices of not taking venture capital, not working for other people, etc. are all rooted in this need for autonomy.

3.

Enjoyment: I am a multi-dimensional person. I am neither a nerd nor a conventional entrepreneur interested in maximizing the amount of money I can possibly make in my career. I already have a very high quality life. I believe excess is NOT a requirement for success. I also believe that enjoyment IS a requirement for success. If you are successful by wealth metrics and your life is either boring or lonely, I do not consider that a success. I enjoy my life. I love my work. I love Art and Culture. I paint. I dance. I travel. I see lots of exhibitions. I attend a lot of concerts. I love to cook. I have a wonderful relationship and great friends. I host salons. I attend salons. Life is immensely rich. It’s a core requirement and something I optimize around.

4.

Personal Growth: I am an intensely curious person and I push myself to learn all kinds of things all the time. Not just business-related. I like learning languages, for example. I read a lot, and again, not just business/technology related stuff. I love literature. It helps me become a better writer and a better thinker.

5.

Time Management: I often disengage from relationships, including, sometimes, very long term ones, if they become either sources of negativity (jealousy is a big one) or stagnant pools of frustrated mediocrity. I am quite ruthless on this issue. I have a zero-tolerance policy towards pettiness. I am also very good at saying to NO to 99% of the things I am asked to do.

6.

Truth and Justice: I care deeply about certain issues and am willing to go to great lengths to fight for them. But I pick my battles judiciously.
