Perhaps it means that she really loves you.
Maybe she typed a heart <3 and thought, “I love him more than anything. That less-than symbol has no place in my love for him.” So she took it out.
Unless she's showing other signs of a serious crush on you I would assume it was a typo. It'll avoid some embarrassing moments.

Could it be a symbol for breasts? Or the butt?
Or did she or you miss the <3, as the symbol for heart?
Or a double-scoop icecream cone?
Oh, if girls/women would just say what they mean, the world would have less confused men and less frustrated women.
