Humans evolved with a tactile sensation. We needed it to find a good grip on a tree branch. We also are social critters. So we like to touch our friends and family. It’s all due to evolution from a monkey-like ancestor. Next time you wonder about a human trait, think of what our animal ancestors were like and think about the evolutionary advantage it might have.
