What should I call my husband's younger sister in Tamil?
Yanıtlar
We have forget lot of words. The two answers to this question is or was also spoken in some part or some sect of people. But in Coimbatore region husband's younger sister was called “Kolunthiyal”- கொழுந்தியாள். The elder sister was called “Nangaiyal” நங்கை அல்லது நங்கையாள். The other relations - father's father is “Appaaru”- அப்பாரு, father's mother is “Appathaa”- அப்பத்தா. Mother's father is “Appachi” அப்பச்சி and mother's mother is “Amachi or Amaya" - அம்மச்சி - அம்மாச்சி, அமையாது - அம்மாயா. In future these relationship words won't exist I think. Cithappa, periappa, maama, athai etc.
If she is younger to you, u can call her by name itself. (Unmarried).
But if she is married u can call her as Anni (அண்ணி) or Mathani ( மதனி) .
That depends on the area you live.
But if she is elder to you, u can call her by அத்தாச்சி (aththaachi).
(Aththaachi) That's the correct word. Even that's the word used to call maternal uncles' daughters or aunt( dad's sister's ) daughters.
