a)..I doubt whether a single word acceptable to all Tamil populace exists to call one’s sister's husband giving a specific relationship name..
b)..Generally elder sister's husband is called ‘akkA purushan-அக்கா புருஷன்’ and younger sister's husband- ‘thangai purushan-தங்கை புருஷன்’ (colloquial)
c)..Standard Tamil ‘akkAvin kaNavan (r)-அக்காவின் கணவன்(ர்)’ and ‘thangaiyin kaNavan (r)-தங்கையின் கணவன்(ர்).
The letter ‘r-ர்’ is added as the expression of respect..
d)..The word ‘chagOthariyin kaNavan (r)-சகோதரியின் கணவன்(ர்) is applicable to husband of both elder and younger sisters..
e)..’machchAn-மச்சான்’ and ‘machchinan-மச்சினன்’ are other words which refer to other relationship too, in addition to ‘sister's husband’.
‘machchambi-மச்சம்பி’ is another word to mean elder sister's husband that is not in use..
f)..But the Tamil Brahmins use a single word ‘aththimbEr- அத்திம்பேர்’ which is a pure Tamil word..

It differs according to the caste. In iyer caste it is Atthinbar. In some caste it is athan. In my caste if he is elder we call mama. If he is younger we call mapla.
