Depending on where you're from YOU ARE LEGALLY PROTECTED from anyone telling you not to breastfeed in public. In the entirety of the UK you cannot lawfully ask a woman to stop or move to a discreet location as it is discriminatory, in many states in the US as well. Actually I believe an act was passed in 2018 that stipulates you're allowed to breastfeed in public in every state.
As long as you are comfortable, you should continue to do so, maybe bring a scarf if you are concerned about modesty.
As to your partner, yes. If you have any inclination that it might be abusive that means you feel abused. He is humiliating you and that is unacceptable. If you continue to feel this way you should address it if you feel safe to do so or seek help otherwise.
I am so upset that I didn't see this question before you recieved answers from people who think their opinion outweighs the law.
Research ‘breastfeeding in public' and you will find countless stories where people have been called out for their horrendously outdated approach when they try to stop or move a woman. You are not alone, it happens to women all the time but it doesn't make it right.
EDIT: When I started my response you only had 3 answers, 2 were from horrible people, since then supportive and knowledgeable people have commented! That is the sort of answer you deserved.
